Stuffed Makki ki Roti is North Indian Punjabi special bread which is usually made in winter months. Makki ki roti is made with corn flour. Stuffed makki ki roti is an innovative recipe as usually makki ki roti is served with sarson ka saag.
Ingredients:
Yellow Corn Flour – 250 gms
Chopped spring onions – 1 cup
Grated Cabbage – 1 cup
Grated Carrot – 1 cup
Grated Broccoli – 1 cup
Salt, Carom seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly powder/flakes – As per taste
Method:
- Mix all the veggies and spices. Add corn flour or makki ka atta. Using little warm water, prepare a nice dough. While kneading the dough, add 1 tsp oil. Knead a soft and form dough.
- Make small balls of the dough. On a flat surface, spread a plastic sheet. Press the dough ball using the fingers and keep on pressing the roti in circular manner.
- Place the prepared stuffed makki ki roti on hot griddle. Cook the roti on medium flame. Apply little oil on both sides of the roti to make it crisper. Cook till both sides of the roti turns brown.
- Once ready, serve hot with butter or sarson ka saag.
