Learn how to make authentic North Indian dish, Sarson ka saag. Generally served with makki ki roti, sarson ka saag is winter vegetable which tastes super tasty with dallop of white butter.

Mustard Leaves (Sarson ke patte) - 1/2 kg
Spinach (Palak) - 1/2 kg
Onions Chopped - 1 cup
Tomato Puree - 1 cup
Ginger Garlic, chopped - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Asfoetida (Hing) - a pinch
Green chili - 2 pcs
Salt, Red chilli powder, Turmeric Powder - As per taste

1. Wash both the leaves very well and roughly chop it. Steam it in pressure cooker until 1-2 whistles. Cool down and blend in mixer grinder or hand blender.
2. Heat 2 tsp mustard oil in a kadhai, splutter cumin seeds, add asfoetida, ginger garlic, onions and saute for 4-5 min on medium flame. Add tomato puree and cook the masala for few min and add all spices. Mix well.
3. Cook the masala for 10 min till oil separates from it. Add whole green chili.
4. Once masala is cooked, add sarson ka saag. Mix well and cook for few minutes.
5. Serve hot saag with dallop of butter along with makki ki roti.
